CASE STUDY

“The great thing about the learning is that it is transferrable to their personal lives and helps to ease any concerns or anxiety that may exist for our staff”.

David McDonald - CEO

Cyber 38 proudly partners with Care in Motion to safeguard employee wellbeing via Cyber Awareness Education

CARE IN MOTION as it is today, began from humble beginnings 40 years ago and is still providing important support through its community transport service, aged care volunteer visitors scheme and services Australia, Centrelink agency.

Care in Motion provides services in the Yorke Peninsula and have recently taken on management of the Northern Passenger Transport Network in the Mid-North.

As an organisation involving volunteers, the organisation depends on time given by others to support the community.  This includes transporting clients to essential medical appointments and attending to regular chores like shopping and maybe even catching up with friends and family.

The Challenge

Ensuring staff have appropriate levels of cyber awareness to help protect confidential and personal information regarding volunteers and clients. Any breaches of this information could represent a serious reputational risk to the organisation and clients, therefore damage operations in both the short and long term.

Cyber awareness extends beyond the workplace and into personal behaviour. Care In Motion acknowledges that if an individual falls victim to cybercrime the negative impact to their wellbeing can be severe and affect all aspects of their lives.

The need to have a very much heightened awareness of cyber requires everyone to be consistently vigilant day in day out. Providing training to support this needs to be engaging, encourages continued learning with minimal demand on time and resource to avoid any disruption to operations.

“The advice and assistance from Cyber 38 is of the highest level.

Their care factor is high, and it has exceeded our expectations.

Cyber 38 clearly puts their clients first”.

The Solution

The content was presented in a very simple, "Plain English" approach, it was not over complicated. Onboarding was simple, non-disruptive and took less than 1 week

Care in Motion chose Cyber 38 to reduce commercial and operational risk whilst safeguarding the wellbeing of our employees.  The solution matched to needs, was an engaging and easy to use micro learning content, with measurable human error risk scoring that enables a simplified pathway to governance and compliance reporting in the future.

This was achieved via an online platform where users can access engaging and easy to use micro learning content that covers topics related to workplace and personal behaviour. For risk and governance, Care In Motion can easily access measurable human error risk scoring tools and simplify reporting and monitoring of continued improvement over time.

Content covers topics in the workplace such as Business Email Compromise (BEC) and how to spot and avoid phishing attempts using best practice techniques such as SLAM (Sender, Links, Attachments, Message).

In addition it addresses topics relating to personal behaviour that helps users better protect themselves at home and ensures wellbeing beyond the workplace.

The Impact

The platform is designed in such a way that the training is almost subliminal. It is unobtrusive and it is learning as you go. The content was presented in a very simple, "Plain English" approach, it was not over complicated. Using Cyber 38’s dashboard approach is most effective as it is a simplified summary which everyone understands and can track.

The onboarding process was simple, non-disruptive and completed in less than 1 week which was great for us with Cyber 38’s advice and assistance being of the highest level.

The training platform has been better than expected in many areas for us and works well for what we need and the type of education we want our staff to have both in the workplace and at home.
